Electrical / Electronic Design Engineer - South Wales
Leading International Manufacturer

1. Establish customers technical and project timescale requirements and document accordingly.
2. Determine project and product development costs to establish project viability.
3. Participate in Customer visits to support Sales activities and provide technical expertise.
4. Produce electronic/electrical designs and develop these to deliver superior products that meet technical, commercial and delivery requirements for the business.
5. Conduct testing and produce performance data.
6. Use schematic capture software to design, simulate and generate electrical/electronic schematics.
7. Use PCB layout software to produce functional layout designs and transfer these in Gerber format to PCB manufacturer.
8. Be capable of establishing correct functionality of circuits through examination of the circuit schematic diagram and use this knowledge to recommend circuit improvements or to determine root cause of non-compliant circuits.
9.The Electrical Electronic Design Engineer will establish new design techniques to improve cost, functionality or reliability of circuits.
10. Work under own initiative to develop new design techniques and technologies.
11. Develop where appropriate technological innovations that provide a competitive advantage for the company.
12. Impose exemplary housekeeping standards on the design department, in office and lab areas.
13. Electrical Electronic Design Engineer will assist with specification of new products and equipment where applicable to ensure suitability of use.
14. Develop electrical/electronic solutions to implement in new products and/or equipment that will provide an operational benefit to the business.
15. Develop software solutions and implement in new products and/or equipment that will provide an operational benefit to the business.
16. Provide technical advice and support relating to international standards (safety for example) so that new products are developed to comply with approval specifications and achieve 'right first time' success rate.

Electrical Electronic Design Engineer
1. Highly motivated, team player and self-starter.
2. Organised and disciplined.
3. Good communicator in both verbal and written form to all levels within the organisation.

Essential Requirements :

1. Proficient in design of mixed signal electronic solutions.
2. Programming using high and low level programming languages.
3. Working knowledge of programmable pIcs and development platforms.
4. Track record of innovation in electronic circuit design.
5. Commercial awareness and an ability to determine commercial versus functional trade-offs.

38 hours per week with a choice of 3 work patterns - to be discussed.
Overtime may be needed to be worked when required by the business.
