Salary: 26-29,000 + Benefits

An exciting new vacancy now exists for a Configuration Systems and Process Engineer within this fast paced and rewarding manufacturing company.

The Configuration Systems and Process Engineer will contribute to the development and support of operating system image deployment systems for the laptop configuration centre to ensure they meet both business needs and customer requirements. The chosen candidate will also be required to study the configuration and service and repair processes to offer, develop and introduce process improvement opportunities as part of continual improvement activities to increase efficiency and save cost.

Emphasis on process improvement and development of new and existing imaging solutions is essential.It is expected that the successful individual will make an impact from day one by enhancing the already substantial knowledge and skills of the team.

The Configuration Systems and Process Engineer will work with the existing team to review, analyse and modify existing deployment solutions to meet business requirements ensuring, testing, debugging and deploying to support application systems.

Working closely with the in house systems team, the successful candidate will consult with various users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives, with responsibility for writing documentation to describe custom configuration of applications and operating procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate and substantiate the implementation of sustainable business improvements through use of effective engineering skills and knowledge.

- System deployment, design, development & build to support processes.
- Work with various stakeholders to deliver new operating software definitions into CPE imaging deployment process
- Identify and drive resolution for image related issues
- Delivery of image mapping in the shortest time frame
- Continual improvement of deployment methods to ensure scalability and efficiencies are maximised.
- End to End continuous improvement of all areas of configuration and service
- Production System Support
- Training of Operatives to enhance quality and efficiency
- Writing/editing and controlling instructions for assembly, test, O/S deployment and shipping
- Software imaging server and network design & build
- Engineering Improvement/ChangeECO/ECN management & implementation

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

- An excellent knowledge of TCP/IP internals / networks, client server operations

- DHCP, PXE & TFTP experience required

- Experience with Ghost/Altiris/Clonezilla/Image-x and SCCM would be advantageous

- Scripting or basic experience in software development (VBS,VB.NET, VB6 and SQL)

- Proven skills in windows networking

- Appropriate academic and (or) vocational qualification

- Extensive understanding of operating systems (Windows/Android).

- Excellent written & oral communication skills.

- Appropriate academic and (or) vocational qualification

- Experience of Windows 7/8 and android operating systems is necessary

- Experience in a similar position or environment is required

Some international travel will be required as part of this role

Salary: 26k - 29k (Depending on Experience)
Working hours: 38.75 per week
Working Times: Monday - Friday 08:00am - 4:15pm
Flexible working scheme available
Basic annual holiday entitlement is 24 days (April to March) + 8 bank holidays and accrual of days based on service up to a maximum of 30 days + bank holidays
Option to join company pension scheme with individual contribution of 7% and company contribution of 13%
