IT Systems Developer

Global Manufacturing organisation. South East Wales based position

The purpose of the role is to write small database systems based on Microsoft SQL server, to develop, write and test SQL Reports/Crystal Reports, to integrate data between ERP system and local SQL database, and to develop ad hoc applications in a .NET environment (web and windows). Reporting directly to the IT Manager

Support and maintain various SQL database systems Provide backup to ICT manager on Microsoft AX2009 Be able to work with all departments within the organisation in order to obtain report specifications. SQL Server Development: Assist staff in their understanding and use of information technology? Ensuring users can use equipment, by providing personal tuition and self-help instructions Adherence to standard operating procedures Commitment to supporting your direct supervisor and department manager ? Undertake housekeeping and reporting functions Suggest and help implement improvements to whole I T systems environment Ensure skill base is maintained by continually understanding new technology


Required Skills

Demonstrable experience in database design, query creation and data architecture Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into a technical solution Knowledge of Visual Studio 2010 development environment specifically C#.NET, VB.NET and ASP.NET SQL Server Development - Maintain and create Stored Procedures / Functions - Understanding of Roles / Schemas / Users - Create Views to return specific data from multiple tables - Knowledge of SSIS packages and SQL Job Agent - Knowledge of linked servers ? Create user reports in either SSRS or Crystal Reports.

- Able to embed Crystal Reports into .NET and web applications Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of users within the organisation Desirable Skills - Understanding of manufacturing environment - Knowledge of Time and Attendance Systems - Microsoft Office macros and VBA - Windows Server Active directory changing passwords etc. - Knowledge of SQL indexes

The successful candidate should have the ability to work under their own initiative as well as being a part of a team.
