To guarantee compliance with laws and provisions in health, safety and environmental protection defined by the corporate Dept.

Main Responsibilities in this Manufacturing organisation

• Collaborate with the Environment Manager for the maintenance and implementation of systems in matters of environmental management (ISO 14001) and forest certifications (FSC)

• The Health and Safety Environmental Officer will manage the communication flow with the relevant authorities in matters of environmental protection

• Collaborate with the Environment Manager for the maintenance of the granted environmental permissions

• Support, assist and collaborate with the other corporate depts. on operational aspects related to environmental issues

• Support the corporate Environment Dept in the management of the communication flow towards clients on environmental topics

• Health and Safety Environmental Officer will Identify risk factors within the plant, compiling risk assessments and indicate the necessary measures for the health and safety of working environments in compliance with the regulations in force
• Guarantee the correct and efficient control of administrative processes concerning safety management
• Carry out analyses following job injuries, in order to ascertain their cause and promptly implement the related corrective measures
• Chair safety meetings with workers and their representatives
• Maintain and improve safety procedures for the different corporate activities
• Participate in consultations on matters of work health and safety
•Health and Safety Environmental Officer will participate in the training process of suppliers of goods and services with relation to safety and hygiene activities in the working places (where applicable)
• Health and Safety Environmental Officer will ensure compliance of machines, plants and facilities with law requirements and in the suggestion of measures to carry out in order to raise their safety standards, also taking into account the applicable harmonised technical provisions
• Promote a safety-bound corporate culture
• Promote the Corporate Principles and Values

Qualifications
• Environmental based degree or several year’s experience in the environmental field
• NEBOSH Certificate or Higher
• Understand chemical safety
• Knowledge of Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment
• Work well as part of a team or on own initiative
• Very good communication skills, both written and verbal
• PC literate, confident at preparing reports
• High level of numeracy
• Problem solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Good housekeeping
• Knowledge of ISO 14001/OSHAS 18001
• Auditing experience

Your experience will have been gained in a Process industry possibly Steel, Chemical, Packaging, Food industries
