Reporting directly to the Costing Department Manager the Graduate CAD Engineer will support the Costings Department to development costings and feasibility of new products. Using CAD Design software (Catia V5) to develop 2D and 3D drawings to assist with the quotation of aluminium and wood finished decorative products for new product introduction and engineering level modifications.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the quotation and development process to gather a full analysis for management review.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Production of 2d drawings/3d models when required, to support new projects, sales and process engineering.
•Assist in Preparation of feasibility studies (RFF) in terms of design, tooling, production and assembly.
•Support sales quotations (RFQ) activities, producing vehicle layouts, sections, mass analysis, and packaging data.
•Process CAD data imports and exports , Establishing and maintaining efficient & effective data links with customer, design houses and supplier using, the appropriate tools, FTP, B2B portals etc.
•Operation and administration of CAD file system systems as well as all support translation within the company
•Record Part History for all new live CAD data related to new projects referencing change numbers.
•Support Tooling/process on customer improvement programmes.
•Respond to CAI (Customer Action Instruction) raised by the sales department.
•Support for quality department, on metrological data including CMM points drawings & diagrams.
•Assist and support hardware and software fault rectification, maintenance contracts, software upgrades, etc.

•General understanding of printing and press/ mould processes
•Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all departments
•Highly organised ,self-motivated and logical
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel – at intermediate/ advanced level
•Ability to read and understand engineering drawings / documentation
•Strong co-ordination skills
•Smart appearance

•Travel flexibility – the successful candidate will be required to travel regularly in the UK

Qualifications:

CAD Design Engineer / Graduate CAD Engineer
•Previous Experience in a similar role (CAD Engineer, not applicable for a Graduate application)
•Relevant Engineering Degree
•CAD design packages CATIA V5 solids, assemblies and drawings – Essential.
•CAD design packages CATIA V5 surfaces –Desirable.
•Travel to work from Merthyr, Newport, Cwmbran, Tredegar, Ebbw Vale, Pontypool, Brecon
