• You will be responsible for driving new product developments in accordance with the New Product Development (NPD) Process, a process designed to manage and steer products through the product life cycle. This is a Product orientated role

• Value engineering of current product range to support the global strategy for the product range based on the requirements of the global winning business model.
• Sustaining Engineering – production and maintenance of all product designs and specifications.
• Management of all patents and trademarks;
• Management of Development & Test Laboratory.

• Design and development of new products and value engineering of current product range to support the global strategy for the product range based on the requirements of the global winning business model.
• Responsibility for content of all technical documentation (i.e. Standards, Patents and Trademarks) and management of patent matters
• Interfacing with Global Business Line Managers, sales channels and customers to determine technical needs to meet existing and emerging market requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with international engineering standards concerning design and manufacture.
• Overall management, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Engineering Department, encompassing Design & Development, Sustaining Engineering, Standards and the Development & Test Laboratory. Responsibilities include safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; intellectual capital reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Product validation and documentation via Development & Test Laboratory.
• Leading and coordinating external design offices, incl. project work from our sister company in India. Responsibilities include direction of the Design Engineers based at India and USA who are members of the group Engineering Team.
• Supporting Supply Chain Management in finding new suppliers and developing current suppliers.
• Management of budgets.
• Tear Down Audits.
• Maintaining the Company’s business accreditations (ISO9001, PED, ATEX, etc)
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
• Educated to degree level in an Engineering subject e.g. Mechanical Engineering (minimum requirement) and ideally to Master’s level.
• Good material science knowledge, e.g. in castings, plastics, elastomers and proven expertise in the application of such knowledge possibly gained in the Automotive industry
• Exceptional experience gained in leading design and development projects and activities.
• Proven Leadership skills. Automotive industry background would be ideal
• Excellent project management skills.
• Knowledge of modern design and development software packages, e.g. 3D design packages, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Knowledge and experience of lean methodologies including (but not limited to) Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), 3P, 5S, SDP, Problem Solving, Visual Management.
