IT Systems Architect
An exciting role to join a market leading company with a very successful product portfolio, Global Manufacturer. Reporting to the Business Systems & Marketing Manager, the Systems Architect role sits within the Systems Team whose purpose is to provide agile and proactive support to the business for a core set of systems. Extensive IT systems and IT support experience is essential. Responsible for design architecture of the Midas configuration system and development of Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE / Analytics) reports for the Configuration and Service centres. The role requires a mixture of customer-facing skills including business analysis, project management, stakeholder management but also requires a technical skillset and willingness and ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership, supervision and co-ordination of the Developer within the Systems Team
• Identify improvements and areas of functionality within the Midas system to ensure systems are strategically aligned with the business vision and mission
• Understand business requirements, produce functional design and technical documentation
• Assist the Midas team with the development and management of the Midas database
• Design and deliver reports for all tiers of users and stakeholders using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition including dashboards, OLAP and ad hoc reports
• Liaise with in-house IT team to manage infrastructure improvements and upgrades
• Use data analysis to provide insight and set direction, making recommendations to the Business Systems and Marketing Manager about areas and improvements to target
• Shared responsibility for 1st line support of Midas
• Perform system testing and manage UAT phases of projects as required
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
• Graduate in an IT discipline (computer science, information management systems, software development or business information systems) with at least four years’ general IT experience
• Previous project management experience (Agile methodology preferred)
• Experience of Oracle OBIEE desirable,• Knowledge of SQL, VBA and Access desirable
• Knowledge of Oracle Siebel application desirable
• Ability to work closely with developers, communicating use cases and summarising product / project goals in a clear, tangible manner
• Logical approach and the ability to pay attention to detail
• Business case, functional and technical design experience
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel in particular)
