Electro Mechanical Design Development Engineer
Global Manufacturer
•1. Establish customers technical and project timescale requirements and document accordingly.
2. Determine project and product development costs to establish project viability.
3. Participate in Customer visits to support Sales activities and provide technical expertise.
4. Electro Mechanical Development Engineer will produce concept designs using DFM and develop these to deliver superior products that meet technical, commercial and delivery requirements for the business.
5. Produce proof of compliance through simulation, rapid prototyping and testing.
6. Provide technical support to all departments as and when required.
7. Identify improvement opportunities, team-working with other department members to implement effectively thereby reducing costs, increasing capacity and/or improving quality.
8. Work under own initiative to develop new techniques and technologies.
9. Electro Mechanical Development Engineer will develop where appropriate, technological innovations that provide a competitive advantage .
10. Housekeeping of design office and lab areas.
11. Assist with specification of new equipment where applicable to ensure suitability of use.
12. Develop design solutions to implement in new products and/or equipment that will provide an operational benefit to the business.
13. Generate manufacturing documentation packages to ensure production is equipped with sufficient information to build product as per design intent.
14. Ensure amendments to documentation are carried out in a controlled manner and to procedure.
15. Use 3D CAD (Inventor), calculation and experimentation to develop new concepts and demonstrate compliance to customer requirements.
16. Deliver products from concept through to production and support these products at all stages.
Ideally the successful candidate Electro Mechanical Development Engineer would have
• Degree in an appropriate technical / engineering discipline or HND with experience
• Good communication, organizational and presentational skills
• Good analytical skills, with good problem solving attributes
• Computer literate with the ability to adapt to bespoke computer applications used at the company
• Design Engineering experience is essential would be an advantage
Travel to work from Cardiff, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Newport, Llantrisant
