You will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of employees engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems. You will be qualified to HND level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.£35-38,000 Dep on experience
Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance Engineering Manager
·Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
·Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
·Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
·Directs employees and contractors engaged in buildings and grounds maintenance activities, such as snow and ice removal, mowing lawns, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
·Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with maintenance employees
·Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
·Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
·Maintenance Engineering Manager Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimise operating costs, and effect greater utilisation of labour and materials.
·Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
·Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
·Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
·Confers with workers to resolve grievances.
·Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
Key Requirements: Maintenance Engineering Manager
Ability to interpret business requirements into production output
Sound understanding of production processes
·Understanding of Lean Manufacturing processes and quality tools and techniques i.e. VSMs, 5S, Work Place Organisation, PDCA, Visual Management, Kaizen
·Results focused, Team working and collaborative, Ability to motivate and inspire staff ·Personnel Management experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to communicate at all levels of the business
·Ability to work within approved budgets, and develop and implement cost saving measures
Understanding of HS&E,Ability to strive for and sustain continuous improvement
Ability to use own initiative
